Rent Energy for TronLink: Check the Address and Send USDT
Prepare a normal TronLink account for a USDT TRC-20 transfer: select the sender, estimate resources, verify delegation and review the final wallet prompt.
To use rented Energy for a standard USDT transfer from TronLink, delegate it to the ordinary TRON account that will send the tokens. Then refresh its resources and review the transfer again before signing. Connecting the wallet and receiving resource delegation are different parts of the process.
Select the correct account and mode
Check TRON mainnet and the exact account holding the USDT. A browser extension and mobile app can display different selected accounts, even when both belong to you. Compare the full address rather than the wallet name.
TronLink also supports a separate GasFree wallet flow. Do not assume its address or fee-payment mechanism is interchangeable with a normal account. The official GasFree guide explains that mode. This article concerns a standard account transfer using TRON resources.
Estimate before paying for Energy
Open the intended USDT transfer and inspect the recipient, amount and estimated fee. Use the TronBid Energy calculator to plan resources, then compare the estimate with what the sending address already has.

Rent for that sending address
Open Quick Rent, review the current package and duration, and confirm the resource target before payment. If the payer and target differ, make sure the chosen rental flow explicitly supports that arrangement.
When TronBid asks you to connect or confirm an action, use the actual wallet prompt and read the operation. Receiving a delegation does not require disclosing a seed phrase or importing a private key into a website. A resource purchase and a seller permission are different actions; do not approve an unrelated permission to make an ordinary transfer.
Confirm the delegation
Check the rental order and the account's updated available resources. A paid order is not itself proof that the resource has arrived. Use the delegation checklist if the wallet's balance is unclear.
Stay on the same sending account when returning to TronLink. If another application uses that address, some resource may be consumed before you send. Refresh the transfer preview after delivery rather than signing a stale draft solely on the earlier estimate.
Send and inspect the result
TronLink's official transfer instructions describe selecting a recipient and token, then confirming the transaction. Check the full recipient, USDT TRC-20, amount and fee before that confirmation.
Save the TXID and inspect the execution result. If the call fails with insufficient Energy, do not immediately repeat it: use the failure guide and check the resources left after the attempt.
When you need TRX instead
A resource balance does not become spendable native TRX. For a later top-up, the USDT–TRX exchange is a separate service. It returns funds to the incoming sender and still requires the initial USDT transfer to be possible. Review the sender and supported account flow before using it.
